The town is wonderful and it is a pleasure to take a walk around it, especially after hitting a good tute during the day on the mountain. It is very well preserved. Adventure tourism has strongly influenced the daily life of the town but the new buildings have been very controlled and maintain the architectural style of the town, something that is appreciated and should be promoted more in other places.
The most representative building in Alquézar is undoubtedly the collegiate. It stands on a rock and can be seen from several kilometers away. There are wide stairs that go up to it and there are guided tours inside it throughout the day until six in the afternoon. The visit leaves for three euros.
On Saturday mornings there is a market in the streets of Alquézar. Under the colored awnings you will see a lot of stalls where local crafts are exhibited as well as sausages and other typical products of the land.
